dc.description.abstract | The performance of Tswana pigs was studied under tmditional management systems. Tswana pigs performed poorer than other indigenous African pigs in reproduction and growth traitscxcept in survival ratc. ln general, indigenous pigs in Botswana arc raised as scavengers with little supplementary feeding, no shcl1ering and poor veterinary carc. The survival of these pigs is dependent on their natural adaptation to the local condi· tions. | en_US |
